About Processed Copper
SDI La Farga COPPERWORKS is a venture joining Steel Dynamics Inc., based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and LaFarga, based in Barcelona, Spain. LaFarga’s roots go back more than 200 years to the time of the Napoleonic Wars. Steel Dynamics was founded in 1993 and has become one of the largest and most diversified steel companies in America. COPPERWORKS in located in New Haven, IN.

Although Steel Dynamics and LaFarga have vastly different histories, they share the same goals: to provide the highest-quality products and unparalleled customer service, while being good stewards of the environment. In fact, the raw material COPPERWORKS uses to produce their Infinity copper (FRHC) is mostly reclaimed electrical wiring and plumbing in a variety of ISRI grades and forms.

Infinity Copper Rod Process

COPPERWORKS uses state-of-the-art technology to produce Infinity copper rod, which is 99.9% pure and meets ASTM B-49 standards. The Infinity process has a significantly lower impact on the environment because reclaimed copper is melted and refined to make new copper products. And because copper can be infinitely recycled without losing its essential physical properties, this process is highly sustainable and economical.

Elemental Copper Rod Process

By combining the latest shaft furnace technology in the industry and its rod production expertise, COPPERWORKS, through its Elemental process, is committed to producing the highest quality ETP rod currently available in the market.

The COPPERWORKS Experience

COPPERWORKS is unique in its approach to the copper rod and wire market. Its team provides an array of benefits that their competitors don’t or simply cannot: expert engineering support, singular focus on copper rod and wire, product choices, wire drawing services, hedging services, delivery options and many more. This all adds up to a customer experience that cannot be matched. Please check out their website to learn more about the COPPERWORKS experience.
