Butler Flat Roll Division
Located in Butler, Indiana the Butler divisions produces carbon steel sheet in widths from 36 to 76 inches and in thicknesses ranging from 5/8-inch down to very thin gauge. We specialize in thin-gauge, high-strength alloy steels, hot rolled steel sheet as thin as 0.042 inches. Our capabilities range from formable low-carbon grades to ultra-high-strength steels. Our Flat Roll Group is ISO 9001 and ANSI/ISO/ASQ Q9001 certified.

Columbus Flat Roll Division
Our Flat Roll Columbus Division was acquired in 2014. Previously owned by Severstal North America, the Columbus, MS mill increased Steel Dynamics’ steel operations shipping capacity to 11 million tons annually.
Situated on a 1,400-acre property, the Flat Roll Columbus Division is a groundbreaking, high-tech electric arc furnace mill capable of producing 3.4 million tons of steel annually.

Southwest-Sinton Flat Roll Division
This $1.9 billion EAF flat roll steel mill will have an estimated 3.0 million tons of annual steel production capacity. It initially included two value added coating lines comprised of a galvanizing line with planned annual coating capacity of 550,000 tons (with Galvalume® coating capability), and a paint line with annual coating capacity of 250,000 tons.

Heartland Division
Located in Terre Haute, Indiana, SDI Heartland Division produces various types of higher-margin, flat roll steel by further processing hot roll coils into pickle and oil, cold roll, and galvanized products.
The Heartland Division has the annual capability to produce 1.0 million tons of cold roll steel, with galvanizing capacity of 360,000 tons. Heartland is comprised of a continuous pickle line, a cold mill, and a galvanizing line. The facility provides high quality cold roll, pickle and oil, and galvanized products.

The Techs
Acquired in 2007, The Techs is the largest domestic supplier of hot-dipped galvanized steel sheet in the United States. Our operation consists of three galvanizing facilities near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: GalvTech, MetalTech, and NexTech. Each plant specializes in galvanizing specific gauges and widths of flat roll carbon steel and is currently the only domestic supplier of Galfan®, an alternative steel coating that has a higher corrosion resistance. The facilities also offer regular, medium, and extra-smooth spangle.

United Steel Supply
At United Steel Supply, we offer steel coil products designed for use in agriculture, residential and commercial construction, and industrial applications. Suitable for metal roofing or siding, our inventory includes Galvalume®, galvanized, and prepainted steel coils.
All the steel products we offer are of the highest quality possible, ensuring that they provide maximum value to our customers, regardless of how they are applied. All products are available domestically, or via export.
